If you have the thirst for science and knowledge, I have got just the toys for you. Ever been fascinated by insects? That is right, those small little creatures that make u scream in the night. To be precise insects are arthropods that not only have a particularly tough exoskeleton but are also characterized by a three-part body and these parts are known as the head, thorax and abdomen. They also got other features like three pairs of jointed legs, compound eyes, two antennae etc. Now if you want know more about insects or even better see them live in action, you got to check out some of the cool new toys from Insect Lore. This hub of mine would seem to introduce some of the best toys from Insect Lore that not only let you see for yourself how insects live and grow but also how you can know more about them and even rear them!

Check out the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Pavillion and the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden. Basically both let you do the same thing, i.e send in a mail-in coupon for the Painted Lady butterfly larvae which also comes with special food. The only difference is the size of the observation container. The Butterfly pavilion is much larger at 2 feet tall while the butterfly garden is at 1 feet tall, about half the size of the pavilion. In addition, the cost of processing for the butterfly larvae is also double that for the pavilion, but you get double the number of larvae, about six to ten for the pavilion instead of the minimum three you get for the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden. And with the see-through mesh of the container, you can easily see the larvae undergo complete metamorphosis and evolve into butterflies. In between there is the cocoon stage when the caterpillars are in chrysalides.

Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden

If you are into butterflies and want to get up close and personal to them, you can consider getting either the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Pavillion and the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden. For starters I would suggest that you get the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden given then the volume is smaller and you get to handle less butterflies. If you are good, the fully grown butterflies would also lay eggs and you would have a never ending supply of caterpillars and butterflies!

Insect Lore Ladybug Land

If you are not into butterflies, maybe you can rear ladybugs instead? Oh I forgot to mention that all Insect Lore toy products not only come with instructions on how to use the insect rearing sets but also information on the insects, in this case ladybugs or for the previous butterflies. So you not only get to see these insects grow up but also get to understand them better through informative guides. Of course if those books are not enough, there is always the internet where you can find all the information you want. Anyways, the way this toy works is the same, send in a mail coupon and they will send you some ladybug larvae and then watch them grow in the sturdy Ladybug Land see-through domed habitat.

Insect Lore Creature Peeper
Amazon Price: $5.75
List Price: $9.99

Insect Lore Creature Peeper

Last but not least check out the Insect Lore Creature Peeper. This is simply a magnifier for kids and children to look at their insects. You can view them at up to three times the magnification. You can put almost any insect there provided you can catch them in the first place! So I am not just talking about the insects that you rear from the Insect Lore Ladybug Land or the Insect Lore Live Butterfly but anything small enough to be fit in. It is like a small container with a magnifier and this container is watertight, so you can view tadpoles or small fish too. If you have run out of ideas for show and tell at school, the Insect Lore Creature Peeper would be the best thing for you!

Hope you enjoyed my hub which talked about a few Insect Lore products. I would recommend that you try out rearing some butterflies or ladybugs it can be really fun! Then again, if you are not the type who rears insects but prefers to be artistic and creative, check out the Pixos Ultimate Design Station which would be the ideal toy for you!
